Brookshire, set the bar on customer service and established a people-first mind set. FRESH by Brookshire's

Sharing the Wonders of Food has been our motto at FRESH by Brookshire’s since the first store opened in Tyler, Texas, in 2011. It is not just a grocery store – it’s an experience. Customers come to shop, dine, explore and even take their kids to our playgrounds. Our FRESH locations offer everyday products, specialty items, chef-prepared takeout, patio dining and catering.

Spring Market

The Spring Market banner launched in 2016. Spring Market is all about small-town grocery stores serving local communities. While the format is designed distinctly for small square footage, these stores offer many of the same products as BGC’s other banners, including produce, market, dairy, bakery and grocery. The name honors BGC’s first store on Spring Avenue in Tyler, Texas.

Reasor's

Since 1963, Reasor’s has been Northeast Oklahoma’s premier destination for finer foods – including the best in regional and local products, a top-end meat counter, fresh produce, gourmet artisan cheeses and more. Each of the locations feature the same level of attentive, friendly customer service that has defined the brand for decades. The Reasor’s banner joined the BGC family of stores in 2022.

OUR HISTORY
OUR HISTORY
  • The Beginning

On Sept. 1, 1928, W.T. Brookshire opened a small grocery store in downtown Tyler, Texas (pictured). The store was only 2,500-square-feet and had four employees. W.T. laid a solid foundation on the principle of great service (he was known to literally jump over the counter to help his customers), and it kept the company growing. By 1939, he had established an office and bookkeeping department and had three stores operating in Tyler, one of which being the first air-conditioned grocery store in East Texas. His fourth store was the first outside of Tyler, opening in Longview, Texas, in 1939.
