This position is based in the Lafayette, LA Distribution Center.

Job Summary

Monitors delivery of inbound/outbound products to ensure accurate shipments. Responsible for checking and loading products for outgoing orders. Communicates with retail stores and vendors regarding shipments. Operates trailer jockey/tractor to move trailers to designated locations around distribution center. Ensures proper maintenance on trailers and mobile generators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies the accuracy of orders pulled to ensure the correct product and quantities are shipped to the appropriate locations.
  • Enters inventory data into hand-held machines and the WMS.
  • Responsible for verifying both inbound and outbound inventory shipments.
  • Checks quality of products on pallets prior to being loaded into truck trailers.
  • Coordinates inbound/outbound delivery schedules between Distribution Centers.
  • Coordinates billing in SAP and WMS for shipments and communicates to retail as needed.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and sanitary working environment by adhering to Company safety and food safety procedures.
  • Carries out general custodial duties as needed for warehouse and office areas.
  • Performs periodic inventory cycle counts.  Makes inventory adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinates organization of the DC yard by moving trailers in and out of shipping/receiving doors based on daily warehouse needs.
  • Inspects, monitors and adjusts refrigeration trailer temperatures to ensure quality of product meets food safety standards.
  • Complies with tractor/trailer Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.

  • Ability to operate forklift/pallet jack.
  • Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools.
  • Must have visual capability to see up close and far distances.
  • Must have auditory capability to hear and understand information given whether directly through a headset unit, over the intercom, and/or the ability to hear warning signals/sounds, hazardous sounds, etc.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the BGC attendance policy.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and five or more years related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
