Job Summary

Ensures displays are visually appealing and remain in accordance with Company guidelines. Works with cross-functional departments to maintain product placement and provides recommendations where necessary. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remains knowledgeable about the foods, products, and services available in the total store, in order to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
  • Provides recommendations to store leadership regarding visual merchandising practices.
  • Identifies opportunities through analysis and makes recommendations to improve category sales through optimal assortment and shelving.
  • Works with store leaders to plan and execute visual merchandising strategies through all areas of the store.
  • Participates during the onboarding process to train new leaders and key department staff on how to visualize and build effective displays.
  • Inspire guests to discover solutions through compelling visual merchandising in all categories.
  • In conjunction with category management team, oversees seasonal and permanent set within General Merchandise areas.
  • Works to creatively display signs and messages.
  • Ensures stored displays, fixtures, and backroom space remains organized.
  • All other duties based on business needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret planograms and other merchandising blueprints.
  • Intermediate knowledge of retail merchandising.
  • Intermediate knowledge of supply chain management software.
  • Intermediate knowledge of JDA space management software.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and analyze information.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts, and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to show information in presentation or diagram form.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in related field and two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • JDA Space Planning certification preferred.

  • Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
  • Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat.
  • Occasionally required to stand or walk.

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.
