Job Summary

Provides armed security and monitors loss prevention on assigned Company properties. Assists with investigations as directed by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides armed physical security and loss prevention services at assigned locations.
  • Assists with asset protection training and internal investigations.
  • Monitors safety and security equipment and processes.
  • Provides on-site training for newly assigned asset protection officers.
  • Responsible for filling position vacancies due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Responsible for the use, maintenance of, and response to security alarms and other security systems at non-retail locations.
  • Monitors and controls vehicular and pedestrian access and traffic at non-retail locations.
  • Complies with state and private security and safety regulations.
  • Provides assistance with company vehicles as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of the warehouse communications system.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to pass post-offer medical evaluation including but not limited to medical background check, vision test, hearing test, physical agility test, etc. for job related tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate how to safely operate a firearm.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education required.
  • Vocational/Technical school preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license required.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age required.
  • Texas Department of Public Safety Level III certification required (Texas Only).
  • Department of Public Safety Level IV certification preferred.
  • Must be able to pass post-offer physical agility test for job related tasks. This includes a minimum of 18 push-ups, 16 sit-ups (within 1 minute), 300-meter run (under 80 seconds), and 125lbs body drag for 15 yards.

  • Continuously exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to industrial odors, fumes and dust.
  • Noise level varies.
