Job Summary

Assists with various aspects of promoting community involvement in the areas of which the Company operates.  Assists with the coordination of events, organization of philanthropic efforts, and volunteer programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transports and operates Big Carts for Company and community events. Ensures safety protocols are being followed and enforced.
  • Maintains working condition of Big Carts and performs mechanical tasks such as tire rotations, battery replacements, welding, painting, monitoring wear and tear of Big Carts, etc.
  • Assists with transporting Community Kitchen food and supply trailers to events and helping with setup. Helps with food prep and serving as needed.
  • Performs minor mechanical tasks such as inspecting/replacing ovens, plumbing, breaker boxes and propane tanks, checking gauges, temperature controls for working condition, etc.
  • Operates under food safety standards and ensures dated products are stocked and rotated properly. Makes fine judgements about aroma, flavor, taste, texture, and color to inspect goods for quality.
  • Maintains and tracks all department supplies and storage equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of state and federal motor vehicle laws.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic mechanical skills, welding and painting skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
  • Ability to continuously travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Ability to form relationships and network with members of community.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.

  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  •  Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience required.
  • Minimum of 25 years of age required.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
  • Food Handler Certification required.

  • Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.

  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.

  • Work is generally performed in either an office environment or maintenance shop with frequent visits to community events.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
  • Quiet to moderate noise level.
