Job Summary

Helps identify problems and areas of improvement in sales, profitability, assortment, pricing and supply chain.  Provide analysis and strategic support to category managers and marketing, including preparing article level projections, marketing promotion effectiveness analysis, industry and peer group comparisons, and other projects requested by senior management.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide business intelligence and reporting for category management and marketing departments.
  • Detect root causes of changes in metrics and effectively communicate these insights to different audiences.
  • Identify levers to move key metrics.
  • Build and automate dashboards and reports.
  • Conduct in-depth research and provide quantitative analysis to evaluate new projects and business opportunities by defining metrics and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with category managers to uncover challenges in each sub-category and create data-driven solutions to them.
  • Partner with the larger category, pricing, inventory control and FP&A teams to aid them in developing solutions to improve internal workflows.
  • Participates in meetings with senior leadership.

  • Basic knowledge of financial statements.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.  Math, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related quantitative field preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of statistical analysis; experience with packages, such as R, Python, SAS, KNIME, etc.
  • Experience in consumer products or multi-unit retail/restaurant concepts preferred.
  • Experience in marketing research, promotional analytics, or consumer insights preferred.
