Job Summary

Prepares and executes merchandising plans in stores as directed by Category Management team. Works to implement product categories for new stores and update categories for remodels and resets in existing stores. Guides and supports vendors and retail partners during the store reset process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads merchandising efforts at store level to ensure merchandising goals and objectives are met. Monitors and supports efforts of vendors and retail partners throughout the merchandising process. Coordinates assistance from facility services as needed for construction purposes.
  • Gathers store merchandising layout information including category sizes, product positioning and details regarding equipment needed to meet merchandising goals in stores. Reports data to Category Management team. Updates and maintains data for floor planning of all stores in Blue Yonder and Adobe files.
  • Guides and supports vendors and retail partners during store resets.
  • Contributes to planning of partial and total store resets by communicating timeline to Facility Services, ordering equipment, and creating category/aisle implementation schedule.
  • Fills and maintains stock levels for equipment and vendor racks stored at SouthWest Foods.
  • Pulls and delivers shelving, pegs, pushers, etc. for store resets as needed.
  • Performs follow-up work once resets are complete to ensure accuracy of work and provides details on any issues or concerns.
  • Communicates issues and updates regarding assigned projects to merchandising leaders and administrative staff.
  • Utilizes JDA floor planning software and Adobe to update and maintain current planograms.
  • Trains and works closely with merchandising field partners as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to learn JDA floor planning software.
  • Ability to learn Adobe.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP reporting applications.
  • Basic knowledge of IMS.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use knives/box cutters.
  • Ability to operate a forklift/pallet jack.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to frequently travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with overnight stays.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two to four years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
