Central Fill Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and repairing all central fill fulfillment equipment. Ensures central fill fulfillment and support equipment reliability in order to achieve goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installs spare parts from inventory to repair and maintain semi-automatic and automatic equipment specific to central fill pharmacy operations.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance to central fill machinery based on equipment manufacturer requirements.
  • Disassembles, cleans, re-builds equipment as needed to meet pharmaceutical environment and company standards.
  • Assists maintenance leadership with inventory and equipment purchasing as needed.
  • Ensure daily work is captured in BGC SAP work order system along with any spare parts used.
  • Works with maintenance leadership team with inventory controls, cycle counts, and quantity adjustments and properly maintained.
  • Assists maintenance leadership team with third party maintenance services with outside repair vendors as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate pharmaceutical automation equipment.
  • Ability to successfully complete mechanical aptitude and other maintenance related evaluations.
  • Ability to use precision, power, and hand tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and hazardous equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts, and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination or experience and/or higher education required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification required.
  • Completion of vocational or technical school preferred.
