Job Summary

Responsible for various aspects of promoting community involvement in the areas of which the Company operates.  Assists with the coordination of events, organization of philanthropic efforts, and volunteer programs. Leads food service for all Company events including our own Community Kitchen food truck.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the coordination efforts of community involvement events including food drives, golf tournaments, military recognition events, runners road races, etc.
  • Helps coordinates and serve with the Community Kitchen food trailer to prepare and distribute food for events and community crisis meals. 
  • Operates under food safety standards and ensures dated products are stocked and rotated properly. Makes fine judgements about aroma, flavor, taste, texture, and color to inspect baked goods for quality.
  • Serves as a liaison for all catering events that the department hosts.
  • Orders and maintains supplies, materials, and other promotional items related to Company sponsored events and volunteer efforts.
  • Tracks and distributes event supplies to store management as requested and based upon available inventory.
  • Performs administrative tasks related to budgeting, invoicing, and payment for items and/or services used for community events.
  • Partners with volunteer program coordinators on the set up and execution of local community events; may also attend these events as needed.
  • Works with the Company’s donation committee and store management to review and process donation requests according to annual budgets.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on the planning and execution of Company sponsored events.
  • Serves as a resource for other departments to execute company programs and business.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to form relationships and network with members of community.

  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.

  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED and three or more years of related experience required.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred.

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment with occasional visits to community events.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
  • Quiet to moderate noise level.
