Job Summary

Responsible for providing basic maintenance repairs to the building structure. Supports all maintenance tasks throughout distribution, warehouse, and support areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs general facility repairs to things such as, minor HVAC tasks, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, doors, hardware, etc.
  • Responsible for following all Company facility safety guidelines. Assists with building safety compliance and preventative maintenance tasks. 
  • Documents all maintenance repairs including parts used and logs repair time using electronic software.
  • Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Basic welding skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use knives/box cutters.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery/ hazardous equipment.
  • Ability to operate a fork lift/pallet jack.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations.
  • May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED and two or more years of related experience required; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Completion of vocational or technical school preferred.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age required.
  • OSHA 10 Certification preferred.
