Job Summary
Serves on a project team to improve business process and systems utilized in retail stores. Provides training on the following areas: cashier, back office/cash office, self-checkout, fuel and pricing. Travels across the BGC market of Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana providing in-store training to our retail partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with the business operations and technology teams to understand the business training needs, identifies options and recommends solutions to train and develop all level of store partners on new processes and procedures.
- Creates and maintains training materials, user manuals, job aids, and quick reference guides.
- Utilizes subject area knowledge to review training materials and provide feedback on content, accuracy, and ease of understanding.
- Participates in a Train-the-Trainer sessions to receive teaching materials.
- Facilitates training sessions on new systems for team members by conducting in-person workshops and/or online sessions.
- Reports progress of partners during training periods to management.
- Captures and shares feedback from business operations team members to project team for the creation of best practices and overall system enhancement opportunities.
- Partners with management to ensure partners are scheduled for training. If necessary, escalate scheduling gaps to L&D team lead.
- Sets up and validates training systems; works with IT if additional support is needed.
- Provides project go live support; acts as the “boots on the ground” to provide real time updates to IT for troubleshooting technology issues.
- Partners with IT for business validations, ensuring the system is ready for business operations and functions as intended.
- Captures real-time system defects and sends them back to the project team for resolution, as needed.
- Assists with release test planning and testing, and provides support, guidance, or training as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of point of sale, cash office, and pricing systems and processes.
- Advanced knowledge of ACS and/or Emerald systems.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to research information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
- Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
- Ability to analyze complex information.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Two or more years’ cashier experience required.
- Two or more years in retail pricing, cash office, self-checkout, and fuel preferred.
- Experience in training preferred.
- Ability to travel 100%; (travel, hotel, meals will be reimbursed according to company policy)
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.

- Continuously required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
- Continuously required to sit for long periods of time.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat.
- Attendance at work is required.
