Job Summary

Develops, implements, and maintains SAP systems and related projects. Ensures stability and optimum performance of system by conducting backups, recoveries, and contingency planning. Leads SAP administrator, perform system updates, change control and the overseeing of remote systems support.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, tests, implements, and maintains SAP systems and technical enterprise resources.
  • Maintains the architecture, testing, implementation, upgrading, and maintenance of SAP system landscapes, infrastructure, and other related projects.
  • Works in SAP BASIS on tasks such as SAP Upgrades, OS/DB Migration, Client Strategy, Capacity Planning, etc.
  • Assesses end user needs and identifies, predicts, and evaluates requirements.
  • Works to meet business goals set by upper management while adhering to Company policy.
  • Ensures system integrity through system backups, recovery procedures, and contingency planning.
  • Maintains SAP system capacity management by analyzing system resources and planning accordingly to support future growth.
  • Evaluates SAP BASIS and OS level configuration to determine feasibility, cost, and compatibility with current systems.
  • Works with Help Desk personnel regarding requests that are related to SAP systems. Assists with providing knowledge base material.
  • Monitors and performs backups, recoveries, and tuning with regards to DB2 databases.
  • Responds to after-hour calls as needed to support resolving issues and projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of SAP configuration and administration applications such as ECC, CAR, CRM, BW, PI, PO, SLD, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of IBM DB2 and HANA.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP reporting, transactional, and development applications.
  • Basic knowledge of software systems used for the purpose of planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and analyze complex information.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to show information in presentation or diagram form.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 5 or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • SAP certification preferred.
