Job Summary

Installs, maintains, and repairs CCTV/camera systems, including access control systems, Cat5/6 data cabling, and low voltage devices. Ensures security systems are functioning properly to monitor and secure designated areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installs and configures security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, etc.
  • Conducts thorough site assessments to determine the optimal placement and setup of security equipment.
  • Adheres to industry standards and regulations for the installation and maintenance of surveillance systems.
  • Performs routine maintenance on security systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning equipment, including diagnosing issues with hardware and software.
  • Completes service close-out documentation, including invoicing, final walkthroughs, etc.
  • Maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance, repairs, and inventory stock.
  • Communicates with all internal staff and their supervisor on daily progress and all necessary information on all service calls.
  • Operates powered equipment such as scissor lifts. Meets all certification requirements.
  • Provides recommendations to improve system performance and security coverage.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of CCTV systems, cameras, and related surveillance technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and IP configurations.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to interpret safety standards, rules, and laws as they apply to the grocery industry.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical journals, safety rules, procedure manuals, invoicing reports, legal documents, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to obtain training to operate powered industrial equipment.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts, and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to show information in presentation or diagram form.
  • Ability to travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required and three years prior experience in security installations and maintenance is preferred.
  • Technical certification or training in security systems is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses required by local regulations (e.g. low voltage certification) required.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.

  • Occasionally required to climb ladders and work at heights, balance, stoop, or crawl.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Attendance at work is required.
