Job Summary

Develops and executes engaging content strategies that align with brand identity and business goals. Creates high-quality, compelling content tailored for each banner across various platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok. Monitors and responds to customer messages, comments, and reviews, serving as the frontline voice of the brand and ensuring a positive and responsive online customer experience. Delivers regular performance reports, using social media analytics tools to provide actionable insights and optimizes content strategies based on platform trends and customer behavior.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates, schedules, and publishes engaging content across all social media channels for five grocery banners to help enhance the customer shopping experience. Monitors content calendars and ensure timely execution of campaigns and promotions.
  • Collaborates with internal teams including Marketing, Category Management, Digital and eCommerce to align social content with business initiatives and promotions.
  • Coordinates and organizes online events with a focus on effective social media integration and promotion.
  • Builds and strengthens online communities by actively managing and interacting with social networks to maintain engagement and encourage daily participation.
  • Monitors customer interactions, ensuring timely, professional, and brand-aligned responses on various social media outlets regarding information being propagated about products, programs, and brands to form deeper loyalties.
  • Assists in determining social media/marketing budgeting needs, spends, and tracks against forecast.
  • Analyzes platform metrics and provides regular reports on performance, engagement, and growth opportunities. Recommends data-driven strategies to increase reach, engagement, and conversion.
  • Produces visual content such as photographs, graphics, and videos, with proficiency in editing across these formats. Collaborates with graphic designers, videographers, and other creative teams to support broader content initiatives.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of social media best practices, tools, and industry trends to enhance strategy and performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Loomly, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and other content management systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of digital space, social networking, social marketing tools and trends.
  • Intermediate knowledge of current technologies and platforms. 
  • Ability to write with clarity and precision, demonstrating strong command of English grammar and proficiency in both general and internet-based computer skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects across different brands with consistency and attention to detail.
  • Ability to craft engaging and brand-aligned content through expert-level copywriting, editing, and visual storytelling across various social media platforms.
  • Ability to represent all Company banners to the online community through various media types.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret general business and professional journals, and technical procedures. 
  • Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with groups of managers, partners, vendors, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to show information in presentation or diagram form.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and three or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience managing social media for a brand or agency and/or higher education required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
  • Experience with customer engagement and community management required.
