Job Summary

Works with warehouse leadership to plan daily activities. Coordinates shipments and work duties in the grocery or perishable warehouse. Ensures a high level of accuracy for shipping and receiving processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures adherence to all Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Oversees timely delivery of products from Tyler Distribution Center.  Handles late delivery complaints, special orders, reroutes, break downs, and clean outs.
  • Coordinates with Dispatch Manager to oversee return center operations.
  • Oversees trailer jockey radio communication and logs all trailer movement.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy for shipping and receiving in the grocery or perishable warehouse.
  • Works with upper management to oversee the daily activities of department personnel to achieve maximum quality and warehouse productivity.
  • Takes hands-on approach to coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, and complete work assignments.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve workplace safety and process efficiency.
  • Coordinates inspection of machinery to ensure scheduled maintenance is completed.
  • Complies with OSHA standards as well as local, state and federal regulations.
  • Coaches and mentors team members. May conduct performance reviews as needed.
  • Ensures pre-established warehouse safety and security practices are followed.
  • Reviews invoices, work orders, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery and shipping periods. Issues and recommends work assignments accordingly.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of database management and reporting software.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse procedures, rules, regulations, workflow and products.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse communications system.
  • Must have visual capability to see up close and far distances.
  • Must have auditory capability to hear and understand information given whether directly through a headset unit, over the intercom, and/or the ability to hear warning signals/sounds, hazardous sounds, etc.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the BGC attendance policy.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • OSHA 10 certification required.
  • Food Handler Certification required.

Physical Demands

  • Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
  • Continuously required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
  •  Occasionally required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
  •  Continuously required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, squat, stoop or crawl.
  • Attendance at work is required.
